A lot of rapes do go unreported because of that, I think.

Often the victim is made out to be a tramp by the rapist's defense attorneys because they want to destroy her credibility.

Well, there are men falsely accused of being rapists, so unfortunately the lawyers have to be hard against the "victims". There was even a prosecutor here in town who got falsely accused of being a rapist, because his wife wanted a divorce and wanted to be sure that she would have custody of the kids alone. Nothing has happened to her for her false accusations...

I'm under the impression that these defense attorneys will try to make any woman out to be a tramp even if it's obviously not so.  They'll make a big fucking deal out of things like what kind of clothes she was wearing.  (Guess you'll all have to wear a burqua in case you get raped, so they can't pull this on you.  /sarcasm )  Her only mistake may have been to go out with Joe Frat-Boy the Third.

Let Bubba have all the rapists and their lawyers.

I actually promised Callaway I'd back off on her in a way, as part of a PM compromise and attempt to figure out where she was coming from. But I still look at her and see avoidant cowardice.

You shouldn't put her on such a pedestal, though. Just recognize that the whole distant-know-it-all thing is born of fear, and can be defeated by genuine honesty, regardless of comparative intelligence. But you know that, you know you have charisma.
