I thought we'd post some of our favourite food recipes here.
Here's my recipe for pasta sauce bolognese:
½ kilo of minced beef meat
½ kilo of onions
½ kilo of crushed, skin free tomatoes, preferably with basil and/or garlic
3 tablespoons of tomato paste
1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
1-2 tablepoons of honey, preferably dark
1-2 teaspoons of paprika powder
½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons of "pasta spice"
a few drops of tabasco sauce
1 tablespoon of meat broth
1 tablespoon of vegetable broth
optional: 1-3 cloves of garlic; fresh basil
Chop the onoins in small cubes and fry them in the olive oil with the minced meat a bit above medium heat; mash it all with a big wooden or plastic fork, until the meat becomes brown (not too dark). Lower the heat to just below medium and add the honey and the broth. After a few minutes, add the other ingredients. The spices should be added at the end. Finished.
