I've been working on lucid dreaming. The problem is, while I'm doing it, I start to wonder if I'm really awake and doing these things in real life. (like the guy who decapitated his greyhound seat mate with a butcher knife, maybe he thought HE was just dreaming).
I've found that if you chew caffiene gum before bed, you get some really vivid dreams to work with. (especially if you don't smoke)!
i was gonna punch my teacher but i started doubting. the thing is you don't doubt awake. unless you have schizophrenia. so go for it. but before that make sure. try switching on the light, or off, it it appears on. it will not work probably. though it might, i have had some that have special lights but i don't remember trying to change things. also check the time, if the numbers are blurry you are asleep. details are hard to keep track of. your subconch changes them all the time, people become others, details change, if your focus shifts you end up in a totally different place. it's hard to stay lucid. it's good to know you are aware enough to question your awareness.
i remember dreams where i tried to watch a movie but when i woke up i realized it wasn't the movie, it was some random bullshit.
