I've never looked in detail at the Ethiopian Jews Lit, simply because at the time I was reading The Controversy of Zion and like books the focus was on the Sephardim and Ashkenazi branches as the two largest segments by far, and the most influential with respect to world affairs. But as far as I know the Queen of Sheba who visited King Solomon in 1st Kings chapter 10 was Ethiopian, at least that is how the Ethiopians have passed it down through the millenia. And Solomon was King directly before David whose lineage was 28 generations to Jesus as per Matthew chapter 1, ergo 29 generations from Sheba visiting Solomon to the birth of Jesus allows lots of time for Israelite influence in Ethiopia prior to the 13th century AD founding of the Teutonic Knights as an order discrete from the Hospitallers.
