The US propaganda was pretty funny, though most of it was incorrect.

In Europe people were banned from using their cars during most of WWII, even in countries not involved in the war. Exceptions were only made for high officials, doctors and such.

They just rationed gas here.  My father still had ration booklets that belonged to his parents.  My grandfather had a city car because he was the heath inspector so the didn't use all their gas ones
