At DirtDawg's suggestion.

I hate Christmas a lot. Even as a kid. It is written in my dx report. :D

I find it a lot of stress built up over just one day.. I end up worrying what to buy for people and I end up broke every year. I think it is just one big rip-off.

I would like to know what others think about Christmas.

i hate christmas too. i never know what to buy one friend who likes movies and has them all already so i am afraid he already has everything.

and yeah it takes all your money. and is stressful. so much social crap.

As a kid, I liked xmas, as a father I only started liking it when we decided to not travel to other relatives places on xmas day itself. Although this year I think I'm hearing talk from the wife of visiting my mother this year for xmas. Not happy.

I love Christmas.

My mother used to make a big deal over it when I was a kid and even after I was an adult, so making a big deal over it and celebrating it with my daughter now is sort of a connection to my mom, if that makes any sense.

One year my mom made a ceramic Christmas villiage for me, so I need to get that out pretty soon.

Thanks for reminding me.   :P

Maybe if you go broke buying presents for people, you could make them something instead?

It sounds like your mum made Christmas fun. I think Christmas is ok when I spend it how I want - just seeing a few people then going straight home after a couple of hours.

Yuck holidays.  Too many people, too much change.  People are stressed out and irritable.  I am not one for big family gatherings either

I usually quite like it cos we don't visit anybody. The kids get a bit airborne but its worth it to make em happy. shopping for folk is a ballache though cos you end up spending money you can't really afford on something they probably won't even like.

I like the lights.

The dysfunctional relatives and in-laws I could do without. The person whoever said "Christmas is a time for family" obviously didn't have any nutcases dropping in for turkey dinner making their life a living hell. :wanker:
