I plan to, but have you ever bought the latest and greatest most cool whatever toy/tool/enhancement and within days come down with a severe case of "buyer's remorse?"

I tend to make the opposite mistake and choke down on impulsive creativity until it's lost its explosive spark.  :-\

Didn't stop me from lying awake late last night grinning though, completely surprised to suddenly feel hopeful about this country. At the moment I don't care if Obama turns out to be a letdown, it's still good to see a bit of heroics about our leadership.

I don't know enough about politics to be able to make any remotely accurate speculations at this point about what the future will bring.

The politics in a nutshell:

Is he truly as centrist as he appears or have we elected a leftwing socialist like his late-to-the-table running mate. I still say that the most compelling reason for each candidate's choice of running mate was to ensure they would NOT be assassinated.

His politics seem fairly right-wing to me, with a touch of some more liberal thinking.

YOu're right re a candidate's running mate.

the reason that obama will be a great president is due to human nature....self interest.

obama has the chance to have history honour his birth as a national holiday.  is there a greater honour?  he has every motivation to try his best to right this ship called the US.  there is very little motivation to sell out to the corporqations like many presidents do.

If only that was the case. Obama outspent McCain by 3:1. When he gets into office, he'll have to pay that money back to the people who gave it to him. Voters rarely get what they voted for. Campaign contributors ALWAYS get what they paid for.

True, but I hope there are other ways to pay back than sell the presidency to the corporations.

Obama is funded a lot more by ordinary people than anyone else has ever been. Also it might be worth noting, but Biden is probably the poorest senator in the senate.

you are correct in a way, the ordinary people gave the money to the teachers who where pushed by their union and own self interest to fund Obama for president. How much longer can the education machine get away with ripping off the working class by suckering them into forking over massive sums of money for white collar job lottery tickets called college degree's is something we will see shortly once all sorts of kiddies are waving their college degree's crying they can't find the high paying job they where promised.

The population will soon catch on those $300,000 lottery tickets where a waste of money and a fools game.
Blimey it wasn't just teachers funding him - they are just one group of ordinary people. Who can blame them for wanting an educated populace.

As for degrees - some lottery tickets are better value than others (over here we have the same problem and yes I hate it nearly as much as you do). Also you cant win without a ticket!

Sarcasm?

*snort*
Did I do an :asthing:?

I don't know.

I am becoming known, lately, for losing myself in word games. Some have gone off on me for such. I enjoy the challenge, but most duck and run when I expound with the least possible force of gut, the lightest bite or most exacting and deliberate wrest . . .  not to worry. Boredom is not present at the negotiation tables, because it has nuked me.

I intend to continue playing with words, but I am at loss to find people who enjoy their roots as much as I do. I have always kept my word noise to myself, but posting here is losing appeal, these days. Keeping my thoughts to myself is a skill I have learned over time.

The jist of what I was trying to say before, is hidden in metaphorical references to alchemy, ancient superstition and legend.

I was proposing the possibility that we have all been hexxed, vexed, tricksied, pixied, by the mojo of the voodoogod we have elected to the highest office held by any human on the entire globe.

I like him, but that scares me just that much more. Why do I like a politician?

His charm and phylactery, which we have mostly all bought into, by counting votes, will soon have access to "The Button."

And here you were a moment ago bitching about the duck-and-run effect. I think there's more to circle, yet.

Noop, it is that effect from without that makes me feel that I have been nuked.

Those spotlights you noticed were deliberately placed, sometimes in chore, with an expectation of finding those with parallel experiences from which I might gain register by being witness to others' attempts at leveling their own compasses. I've said that before, several different ways. It pangs me a bit that my mean of arrival is not acceptable to some.
I don't feel a sense of having choked in hesitation or having stumbled short of the venture after as many posts as I've jostled together from the shavings of my mind. I feel more often that I have slogged past the boundary of mapped points once again and, finding myself beyond the periphery continually, I conclude that the perilous margins I've recklessly tromped are almost infinite when compared to the charted ways.

the teachers could care less about the population being educated, they only care about being paid big bucks and to keep the money flowing

teachers aren't one group of ordinary people, they belong to the largest propaganda machine in the country besides the AARP ( old people ) and NRA. Teachers numbers are large enough to actually account for almost all donations. Also included is the college system and all the secondary employee's feeding off the education spending along with people who make school furniture and all sorts of other stuff consumed by the education machine.

sure people need a ticket to win, the game is rigged from birth so most tickets holders are getting burned and everyone is paying for the swindle.

With those kind of natural resources at your fingertips, then, it's a crime that there aren't greater parallels. I'm anchored well on the sane side of reality right now, because I'm manning a lighthouse to call the lost back, but the horizon beckons.

The laughing bit was my own embarrassment at having admired the power in your images from a distance and then stumbled over myself to meet them in depth, when all that was missing were a few twists of words.
